It has been a long-standing goal of this agency to offer Security Officer training through a secure online delivery system. Online training delivers consistency in content and delivery, while making it easy for security officers to complete training during times that work for them, their families and their work schedules.

Working very closely with State Board licensed Classroom Instructor, Dr. Abraham Kumar, PhD, of ProtaTech, Inc., (LA Lic. No. PSE-INST-20-10773) that goal is now a reality. And with COVID-19 currently wreaking havoc on normal daily business and regulatory operations, the time couldn’t be more adequate than now to offer State Board Security Officers training HERE on SORT Louisiana.

SORT (Security Officer Regulation Training) Provides online security officer training courses that are in compliance with state regulations and standards.

The state-specific training program can be accessed anywhere, at any time. Whether the goal is to obtain continued education, get re-registered or you need to take a course for your first registration courses required by law, we are confident that we can help you with a convenient, low cost and effective program.

Learn and go through the course at your own pace. We have an array of courses for every individual, ranging from an in depth understanding of state specific requirements thru personal requirements for maintaining your Guard/Security Officer registration card to public relations, ethics, diversity, and understanding workplace harassment and violence.

NOTE: Online training is only conducive to classroom components of training, and not used in any fashion with respect to firearms, firearms classroom work or range rectification.

Necessity [truly] IS the Mother of invention.

    • Speak with your company about training. We do not approve anyone for firearms without a cleared background from this agency.

  1. If I take the 16 hr course, will I be licensed at that point? Or is it only the required training to be able to obtain license via an employer? Thank you this is new to me.

    • You must REGISTER with a licensed company. Security Officers do not hold licenses in Louisiana. So no. You will not be licensed upon taking your classes.

      • Can I take the class if I don’t currently live in Louisiana. I’m planning on moving there at the end of this year and was wondering if I could get a head start before hand. Or would I have to wait to become a resident?
