CORONA COVID-19 VIRUS UPDATES

Effective immediately, the State Board will only accept on-site visitation from USPS, USP, FedEx and DHL carriers. Other members of the public or industry will not be allowed into the offices at least until April 1st, 2020 in an effort to stem the proliferation of COVID-19. We are sending out a MailChimp notice on this as well, and instructions are posted at the door going forward with respect to this temporary ban on unnecessary foot traffic. Thank you for your understanding.

Classroom Training and Firearms Re-certifications – Extensions Without Penalty

The Corona virus pandemic is a new and unforeseen event for our nation and the private security industry. As a result of the numerous closures, recommendations of diminished gathering sizes, and other factors designed to mitigate the spread of the virus, the Board is extending any firearms re-certifications due as of March 13th 2020 for a period of 30 days. We will revisit this extension as time in this event response unfolds.

Additionally, we are extending the due date for mandatory classroom training (1st and 2nd eight hours) for newly hired security officers for a period of 30 days from the due date of said training.
